It was an absolute pleasure to be asked to do the reviews for the very first Keeping it Live! showcase at The Horseshoe, Blackpool Pleasure Beach this year.
The organisation of the showcase outweighs anything I have been involved in and for my money is the showcase to be seen. Having known Marcus Collingbourne from his days at The Stage and having his talents organising this event along with John Hopcroft, this show will be the one to be on and I feel that other showcase will be affected.
A sensational production put together in such a short time with a host of people who really know what they are doing.
The people responsible for Keeping it Live! deserve a massive pat on the back.
It was also nice to see some of the Agents & Bookers whom I have not seen for quite a while, even retired ones like good old Ernie Swift. Also thanks to the Agents' Association for their time and effort as well as Equity, as they sat through three days of acts.
Well done to everyone for giving both Marcus and John
the support they so rightly deserve.
A massive success.
